A bit about us
Toffee Park Adventure Playground is a place where children and young people can play freely; meet new friends and have fun whilst being supervised. We offer both indoor and outdoor spaces where children can express themselves creatively and test themselves physically. By exploring the natural elements which make up the world, (such as earth, water, fire, wood, plants and animals) children can learn how to influence their environment.
- We aim to provide a friendly, caring and secure environment for children and young people.
- We aim to improve the understanding of the importance of play and give parents/carers the opportunity to take part in their child’s play.
- We aim to encourage a child’s physical, mental and social development through challenging activities.
- We aim to offer a play environment which responds to and follows the requests and choices made by children.
- We aim to create an environment with equal opportunities for everybody.
- We aim to have fun and enjoy.
By working with parents, guardians and carers we are able to offer a better service to the children using the adventure playground. Please provide us with any information about your child that will help us to understand his or her allergy, special need, behaviour difficulty or major event. We can be more sensitive to a child's situation if we are made aware. We will also try to tell you about anything that happens on the playground that you should know about.
Adventure play staff
The Playworkers are an experienced team who are dedicated to offering quality play to the children in the local community. All our playwork staff are professional people with the necessary skills to work with children and young people. The playwork team are on hand to help the children should they need it and will keep them safe and stimulated while at the playground. They are also available to talk to parents and carers about their children and give advice on issues that affect them if needed. The playground team will always make every effort to consult with children about the play activities they like to do.
As professional play workers, we provide children with a broad range of exciting and creative play opportunities designed to help them develop their full potential. So that we can provide a high quality service, all our staff attend regular training and have achieved or are working towards a qualification in Playwork and childcare. Our staff team are always willing to help. If you have any difficulties please feel free to approach them.
Local people in many ways, such as donating materials, volunteering their specialist skills, helping with trips and fundraising.
If you feel you would like to get involved in our management, volunteering or have a skill to offer, we would like to hear from you. Contact the staff team for further details.
We have an equal opportunities policy. This means that we aim to make our services available to everybody. You also have a role to play in our equal opportunities policy by respecting the needs and differences of other users.
A flexible service
Our service encourages children to make their own choices and decisions about what they do. We make sure there is a varied programme of activities everyday and we welcome new ideas and suggestions.
A quality service
Adventure playgrounds are always evolving and changing as we work to improve the quality of our service. We listen to what children and young people have to say and plan our activities to suit their needs. Adventure playgrounds give children and young people the opportunity to do many things they cannot normally do anywhere else.
